Corporate and Social Responsibility
At Data Techniques, we are all committed to providing our clients with the highest quality of service from the very first contact through to customer acceptance and beyond. This policy relates to the whole of the organisation and all aspects of service provision therefore delivering this Corporate Social Responsibility Policy is the responsibility of all staff within the organisation.
For the purposes of this policy Corporate Social Responsibility is defined as the integration of social and environmental concerns into the business of Data Techniques and the Data Techniques’ interactions with its stakeholders.
Data Techniques understands that we have an obligation to the community and all stakeholders to operate in a socially responsible manner. The Company recognises its corporate and social responsibilities and is committed to improving the environmental, social and economic sustainability of all its business operations and processes.
Company procedures and approach to business arising from this policy are to be applied by all of its employees in the course of their work activities, as well as across the company’s suppliers and subcontractors.
We commit to the ongoing continued improvement of business policies, practices and strategies that impact and/or result in productive and positive outcomes in each of the following key areas:
- Our people
- Our community
- Our environment
- Our business operations
Tackling the challenge of addressing our wider impacts and reflecting our vision will require a corporate and systematic approach towards identifying these impacts and by embracing Corporate Social Responsibility we will broaden our vision by actively looking for opportunities to improve our environment and contribute to the well being of the communities in which we operate.
The Company acknowledges that it has social as well as financial accountability and as such aspires to constantly improve its corporate social responsibility based upon:

- the training and development of all its employees
- environmental and waste management performance
- improving community relations
- charitable and socially responsible activities both within and outside the work environment
To achieve these aims the Company will endeavour to:
- continuously improve health and safety, environmental management and social responsibility issues, including the establishment of objectives and targets
- fully implement and monitor the Health and Safety Policy Statement in line with current health and safety legislation and relevant codes of practice
- Fully implement and monitor the Environmental Policy Statement, including the prevention of pollution, reduction of waste and greenhouse gas emission, and increased recycling in line with current environmental legislation and relevant codes of practice
- Encourage suppliers and sub-contractors to adopt good socially responsible practices
- Communicate these requirements to employees and ensure adequate training is provided
- Maintain commitment to equal opportunities in employment
- Develop the Company’s support for charitable activities undertaken by its employees
- Foster and develop relations with local communities
- Ensure adequate resources are available to implement the requirements of this policy
- Review and update this policy during annual management reviews
My role, as Managing Director, is to provide the necessary communication, focus and support to ensure the above aims are met and that the company can expand its position as a leading quality supplier in its sector.
